The path passes through six stages that lead to parents’ vision of their children growing up healthy, educated and able to earn an income. Disadvantaged rural families often focus on accessing water and nourishing the soil during the first two stages of this path:

Strengthen Health through good sanitation, nutrition, and hygiene.

Earn Income

Earn Income to save and invest in productive assets like livestock and small businesses.

Improve Home

Improve Home through rent-to-own, home improvement, or new home building.

Enhance Education

Enhance Education by building toilets and wash basins at schools, growing school breakfast, and providing hygiene training.
