Battambang, KH – More students benefiting at private school – 22 Nov 2013
More Students are now attending private school. One year ago, in 2012, nineteen of Children’s Future’s high school students received the opportunity to attend private school in Battambang. This decision was made in order to provide better quality education than they were receiving at public school and to better prepare them for tertiary education.
While we are still working towards identifying the best possible long-term solution to our students’ educational needs, the move for high-school students to private school proved a huge success!
Performance, attendance and motivation improved across the board, as did the students’ motivation and belief in their future prospects. The students report that now (for the first time), they receive the attention from teachers they need, that their questions are answered and that teachers actually focus on teaching during classes. As trivial as that may seem, our students had continuously reported about the difference in the quality of education at the Children’s Future Learning Center verses that of the public schools.
This year, Children’s Future was able to enroll an additional nineteen students in private school, including all of its residential children, with the support of a generous donor. The children’s self-confidence and academic diligence have skyrocketed, which leaves our staff brimming with pride and scheming how to provide such this opportunity to even more students.
