Battambang, KH – Healthy Life Garden shop hires GP’s wife to fatten pigs – 13 Nov 2015
GP’s wife is now looking after piglets and earning US$50/month salary, which she primarily uses to pay for her children’s school fees and materials.
Starting the business has been a slow process because of an outbreak of Blue ear swine disease in Cambodia, which put all piglet buying and selling on hold for three months. The outbreak is over currently, and the shop purchased five piglets to fatten for the first phase in what will be an operation fattening ten piglets at a time. The whole shop team are excited to see how this first batch of piglets progress.
GP will lend a hand whenever he is not busy making compost.
