Moshi, TZ – MMC family update – 29 March 2013

The MMC family has enjoyed great success this past month with their garden!  The early maturing Ethiopian mustard has recovered well after struggling during its early growing stages, and the semi-annual eggplants are almost ready to start harvesting.

The Tupendane team brought the family more compost to put in their beds, because mixing it in with the soil helps maintain the shape and nutrient level of the raised beds when the rainy season starts.  The raised beds are designed to facilitate good drainage in order to avoid water logging the plant roots.
